A company working with NASA has created a virtually fail-proof nut that can be installed on a bolt by simply pushing it on with a quick quarter-turn to lock it in place. Based on technology evolving from the Pathfinder mission, the nut has the strength of conventional ones. It is ideal for oil drilling platforms, conveyor belts, mining equipment and automobiles.
